Faust Park, village
Also at Faust Park are original 19th century buildings and implements that have been collected
together to preserve them from destruction. The two-story yellow house was owned by the son of a
governor - two people in period costumes in reconstructed living and dining rooms
described what it was like to live there in
pre-Civil War times. That family also owned 4 slaves, and borrowed 8 from their parents
to maintain the house, do the cooking, and work the farm fields.
A separate building houses a (non-operational?) carousel. The building was closed for the day when we got
there, but it has windows.
