A trail led us to a commemorative bird sanctuary, but fearing another downpour (note
that it is sunny now - in driving to Olney, heavy rain patches would be only a few hundred
feet wide - rain would alternate with bright sun. Hey, its the Midwest.) we didn't take
it very far.
Olney is the home of the white squirrel. We managed to actually see one fairly up close.
Continuing on we passed a dam at Carlyle so decided to take a look. It forms the largest
lake in IL. It had rained here, but at the moment was sunny and warm - the road steamed.
