Launch Complex 19, where the Gemini flights launched. Note the angled wall which deflected the rocket exhaust and the channel to the pool for disposal of hazardous liquids that might have been emitted by the rocket.
Launch Complex 34, where three astronauts died in a fire during a test of the Apollo 1 capsule, causing a year and a half delay of the program and a complete capsule redesign. The angled platforms were used to deflect the rocket exhaust (they slide on rails below). The circle is where the rocket was located, and the pipes would pour water. The bricks on the pad surface are still visible, and are still charred by exhaust.
