When the Cape Tour ends you rejoin the regular KSC tour at a gantry which provides great views of the operating pads.
The shuttle Atlantis on its launch pad as seen from the gantry. You can just make out the top of the external fuel tank and the solid rocket boosters.

Better views of the VAB. This building has a footprint of 8 acres - the tour guide described it as being able to put Yankee Stadium on the roof and still have an acre left over for parking.
