Kennedy Space Center

Parts left over from rocket testing the tour guide referred to as "junk."

A shuttle external fuel tank and boosters on display. This tank is a slightly earlier design than what is currently used, but is spaceworthy. Not sure if the boosters are also actual boosters, or just mockups.

Memorial to astronauts who have died. Note how the clouds reflect off its surface.

Explorer, a full size model of a shuttle that has just returned from orbit (note the smears on the heat tiles.) TALK ABOUT BUTTON HERE

After KSC we went to Cocoa Beach for dinner at the Moon Hut, a diner with a space motif. Yes, it is located on Astronaut Boulevard.

Cocoa Beach is on the Atlantic coast - those lights are ships on the ocean. It really is a beach, but there are a lot of instructions to follow to use it.

We got back to Naples at about 1AM, at the end of an 18 hour 580 mile trip. Was fun.
