Everglades

The Everglades start not far from Naples - most of the land is undeveloped and/or protected so one can see things in a very natural state. The Everglades are mainly grass and swamp, with small patches of trees here and there. Its a nice drive that we took on Thursday (4/27/00).

Fires are good for the flora as old dead material is cleaned out and burned away. Fires are common enough though for a "Fog Smoke" traffic warning sign. Another good one is "Panther Crossing"
