Giant City State Park

On 7/31/04 Jill and I headed to southern Illinois to Giant City State Park.

We took 51 which led us through rural areas and small towns. Here's a Kwikmart in one.

Soybeans to the horizon.

Side roads went off into soybean and corn fields.

Corn is close...

Another small town and another job opening - cook wante to make pork kabo.

More corn, but apparently corn repellent was applied to the posts to keep it away. I want some!

If it was nighttime, that's the perfect kind of road to find in a Midwest-based horror movie.

Corn is closer...

Now that Coke bottling plant looks old.

Its a good thing that vanishing points exist.

Yes, Area 51 on 51. I get it.

Sunday school bell.

Bible school ad.

Ah! A surprise! A Roadside America moment! Life is good.
