Nov 30 - More Williamstown

Back at Williams

After the drive, we spent more time wandering around Williams.

Weston (Foreign Language, Lioteratures and Cultures). Nice building.

Adams Memorial Theatre, a campus theater.

Route 2 passes through the center of campus creating a physical and psychological divide between sciences on the south side and the inferior disciplines on the north side. The yellow sign points out its a state law that cars must stop for pedestrians in crosswalks. One may think you should do that anyway, but only in Massachusetts do you actually have to.

A faculty lounge in the Faculty House, a building on the liberal arts side of the road. Nice room.

The Williams seal on a carpet/tapestry thing on the wall. Think Elvis on velvet, but different.

Another nice faculty-only room. Williams likes faculty.

They really do like faculty. Gee.

The president of Williams' house. They like presidents too.

Baxter Hall, the college center-like building. Yes, its round. There is a dining hall kind of place in the round part.

Sage Hall (dorm) and a closeup. Looks like they like students as well.

Stetson Hall (faculty offices and more).

Inside is yet another fancy room. The books on the walls go back more than a century.

Hopkins Hall (administration).

Why its called "Hopkins Mall". Even my camera was freaked out by the funky lighting.

Lassell Gymnasium.

Thompson Chapel. Ephraim Williams (THE Williams) is memorialized inside.

Griffin Hall.

Room 3 in Griffin Hall.

Another classroom in Griffin.

Statue of a generic Civil War soldier.

A knotted tree trunk sculpture. No, I don't know what it means. Its more Art.

Williamstown - The Village Beautiful. I can believe that.

After the tour back to Jim's place and his living room.
