Castle Environs
In 1903 a wealthy businessman bought 5000 acres here and decided to build a castle-style house complete with water tower and carriage house. He died before it was completed, a fire gutted the castle and carriage house in 1942 and vandals burned the water tower in 1976. Just ruins remain. The complex overlooks the Karst geology and the Lake of the Ozarks.
