Giant Catsup Bottle Redux

Since it was a nice evening, Jill and I made another pilgrimage to the giant catsup bottle on 8/5/04. Unfortunately my camera memory cards somehow became partially corrupted so only a few pictures were salvageable.

The bottle. Looks much more impressive in bright sunlight.

Its still not in a nice area.

They changed their sign - guess their new look has gotten old.

The road by the bottle leads across these railroad tracks. Here the road crossing is wood.

We followed the road for a while to see where it led. Hedge straight ahead, but can go left or right.

Driving up 159 led us to a VFW - Jill by a big gun.

A big fungus was nearby.

We even touched it and were still okay.

We continued up 159 to the SIUE campus. They have odd art. This one could be Turnip Prize material.

Water tower and pool.

Water tower through tire art.

Water tower at sunset. I like water towers.

Tree.

Yes, that street is Hairpin.

More SIUE art. Bricks in a wire fence, topped with a metal pipe.

Interesting SIUE building near the brick and pipe art.

We got stuck on the bridge over the Mississippi coming back to STL due to construction. We did get to see some fireworks near the Arch though. Not sure why - it was 9:30 and the Cardinals did have a win over the Montreal Expos this evening, so that could be it...
