Noise - Radius

These images use lattice noise to perturb the radius of a sphere. Lattice noise is a method by which random values between -1 and 1 are assigned to points on a finite 3 dimensional grid (a subset of N3), and a procedure is used to interpolate these values so as to assign a value between -1 and 1 to every point in R3.

These images show a sphere of radius 1 which has been deformed by the noise. In each successive image, the frequency of the noise used increases. The coloration is based on the original distance from the center, before the deformation occurs.
